Once the balloon enters the stratosphere, it rises to twice the height of commercial flights, almost invisible to the naked eye. The balloon is expected to be used for about 180 days and can be recycled. Official figures show that only 3 million 300 thousand of mobile Internet connections and 63 thousand of fixed line Internet users in Sri Lanka exceed 20 million of the population. And Sri Lanka has a small area of only about 65 thousand square kilometers, which makes Project Loon project easier to deploy.
